COLORS IS A DECADENT CELEBRATION OF THE VIBRANT LIVES AND EXPRESSIONS OF SOME OF NEW ORLEANS’ MOST BRILLIANT PERFORMERS OF COLOR. THROUGH THE ART FORMS OF STORYTELLING AND PERFORMANCE, EACH PERFORMER WILL USE A SPECIFIC COLOR TO PAINT A PICTURE FROM THEIR OWN COLORFUL LIVES. TOGETHER, THE CAST OF COLORS WILL SPLATTER THE WALLS OF YOUR MIND WITH EXPERIENCES AND PERSPECTIVES ON WHAT IT MEANS TO LIVE IN A WORLD FULL OF COLOR.

THE PAST Our first showcase took place during the Southern Decadence of 2019, with three unique shows taking place each night. During the show, each performer embodied a color and shared an experience from their life that inspired their performance.

From stories of romance, loss, resilience, and survival, to joy, acceptance, and intimacy, no story was off limits. We set out with the goal of showing audiences that we are more than just what we offer on the stage and that, often, there is a beautiful story behind the slayage we offer audiences.

THE PRESENT We have been selected as one of the Contemporary Arts Center’s Artists in Residence, which is an application-based program offering time, space, resources, and professional development opportunities for artists in New Orleans.

We are so honored and excited to be bringing the magic of COLORS to the Black Box theatre at the CAC this Fall. Colors 2.0 will take place during Southern Decadence, September 2nd - 4th, with a unique show each night. Nights 1 and 2 will be taking place at the Contemporary Arts Center on Camp Street, and our final night will be in The Twilight Room at The Allways Lounge.
